AI automation consultant South Africa
An AI automation consultant tells you which processes are worth automating, in what order, and what it will take, before you buy software. Augmented AI Automations does this as an audit-first engagement from Pretoria.
What you get
The engagement produces five things, in this order. A process audit looks at one workflow: the steps, the handoffs, the systems, and the cases a person still has to see. A measured baseline writes down how long that work takes today, and where the errors show up, so a later change can be checked against a figure you already agreed. A ranked roadmap lists what to automate first, what can wait, and what to ignore. A build option means you can ask Augmented AI to ship the system, or you can stop when the advice is done. Training is how your team runs the workflow after handover, on tools you already have, without a permanent seat in your stack. You do not receive a catalogue of products. The consultant decision is which process is worth it, and what it will take. Software comes after that decision, and only if you want the build.
Proof from South African work
Three public projects show the range. We only name work that is already on this site. The Johannesburg Stock Exchange marketing team is consulting without a forced build. Augmented AI audited multi-channel content operations under regulatory constraints and turned that into a practical AI roadmap: what to automate, in what order, and what to ignore. The engagement ended at the plan. Momentum is advice that led to a build. An AI readiness review found the same bottleneck across lines of business: staff still keyed form data by hand. The system that followed captures the form, extracts the fields, checks them, and writes the clean record back. Staff now review exceptions only. We do not add a made-up percentage to that result. Tshwane University of Technology is a Pretoria build for two different problems. The content team needed an AI curriculum in about two months when the normal pipeline took six months. The course was delivered in two weeks. The same university also wanted students to use AI study tools without sending data to public services. We built an offline system inside the university's learning platform, so the data stays on the institution's own network.
Consultant or agency?
Use this when you are deciding what to hire. Advice only stops at the roadmap. Advice plus build continues into the system the roadmap ranks first. Build only is for a process you have already named, when you do not need a wider plan.
| Path | What you get | When it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Advice only | A ranked roadmap, with no build attached | You need the order of work before any software. The JSE marketing team roadmap is this path. |
| Advice plus build | The audit, then a system for the process it justifies | A review has already shown a bottleneck worth removing. Momentum's readiness review led to the forms pipeline. |
| Build only | A system for one process you have named | The process is clear and you want it shipped. TuT's two-week course and the offline study tool are this path. |
The same people do all three. You are not passed between a separate consultancy and a separate build shop.
How an engagement runs
We start with one process, not a company-wide tool rollout. The audit names the steps and measures the baseline. The roadmap ranks that process against the others you care about, and it is allowed to say that a process should stay manual. If you want a build, we design with a person in the loop, connect the tools you already use, and test with real files and edge cases. Then we measure against the baseline and hand over a system you own. Cost depends on the process, the systems involved and how much checking is needed. We give a fixed scope and price after the free audit. There is no price range on this page.
Where we consult from
Augmented AI is based at Colab Menlyn Maine, 184 Bancor Avenue, Pretoria. Pretoria clients can meet us in person for the audit if they prefer. Delivery after that is mostly remote, on the same hours. Johannesburg work, including Momentum and the JSE marketing team, runs the same way. There is no Cape Town client yet. Cape Town and other cities work with us remotely. Projects outside South Africa use the same method, one process at a time, and are not counted as local proof.
